Coaching tools - I launched Jenő into space!

Holy cow, I shot that one into space! This came to me after a 2 hour coaching session. And why did this happen? Because I didn't use the coaching tools properly. I wanted to deliver and help a client with everything and more, so some coaching principles took a back seat.

What is the most important coaching principle or rule?

To know or feel the individual how much it can take. There are no general rules on this.vary from one country, or even situation, to another.

 People are very good at hiding the truth, especially from themselves. Some things you don't even notice when they're right under your nose.

These feelings are at work in everyone. You have to work at it, not a little, for a lifetime 🙂
As a first step, we need to be clear see your own problem. The second step is to gather around you a few helpers, mentors, coaches, whoever works for your particular problem. Because it can be different!
To put it a little more bluntly: a time management problem might be solved by a business coach, while a poverty consciousness that has emerged from the past needs a good mentor with systems setup skills.

But back to Jenő

A manager recently came in for a consultation as a wayfinder. He was quite sceptical, so made it clear from the start that he was only coming for one session. He wondered how well he could find his way with outside help.
I always play with my cards face up, so I told you I don't have a scrying ball or a magic wand. He agreed to the terms and came in for a consultation.
And then I made this coaching "stumble".

Coaching tools - shortening the coaching process

I didn't ask Jenő:

  • have you ever been to a helper?
  • are you familiar with coaching tools?
  • have you ever heard of a positive psychology tool? if so, what is it?
  • and do you have any knowledge of quantum physics?

Instead, because time was tight - I felt like it, because it was only 1 time - I gave it my all, we went straight into the "middle". We discovered parallels in several areas of his life, we made super progress. Finally, in closing, I summarised what Jenő was up to.

 

Where have I not used the coaching tools properly?

We were moving too fast. Too much information was coming to the surface that was just circulating around Jenő. According to the coaching recommendationfirst meeting to get to know each other and diagnose should be in the lead.

What are the lessons for a coach?

 

In vain does the customer want 1 -2 occasions, it should be made clear that it is only enough for fact-finding, not solving, ergo almost nothing of value to take home. It is precisely because I am delivering value that I have tried to squeeze 1 hour of exploration into it and give you a useful tool to get you started.

  • If someone asks for help or guidance, the process plan should be told until it is fully goes into the mind of the other.
  • If the putting the customer first, I lose the impact.
  • If too much information to processI give to the individual, the scary. This seems like a forward-looking thing to do.

Less is more, dieticians suggest, but so does the coaching - helping profession.

To be a really good coach, constant and continuous review is needed. It is advisable to analyse each case afterwards, to take it apart and put it back together so that consciously develop every coach, not just a routine coaching session.
