Then let me tell you what my view and position is on this.

According to Wikipedia, a sin is an act, activity, statement, thought or omission that a moral norm considers forbidden, wrong, bad or reprehensible. According to one religious site, sin is an objective reality, according to Scripture, that which separates us from God and life. Yet another source says that sin is what separates people from God, and that the wages of sin is death. I sin when I disobey God's will and break his laws (1 John 3:4).

Every human soul, so to speak, has a different way of judging whether or not an act or deed is a sin, or which group of degrees it falls into.

An example of sin in the Bible

Let me tell you something, and please just listen, your agreement is secondary to me. Thousands of years ago, when Mary Magdalene was tried for adultery, she was dragged before the people by the Jews, and in those days adultery by a woman was one of the cardinal sins for which there was public stoning. Here is her story from the Bible:

"Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, stood her in the middle, and said to Jesus, 'Master, this woman was caught in adultery. Moses commanded us in the law to stone such women. What do you say?" They said this to test her, so that they would have something to accuse her of. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. But they kept on questioning him, so he straightened up and said to them, "Let him who is without sin among you cast the first stone." And he bent down and continued to write on the ground. And when they heard this, they went out one by one, beginning with the elders, and he and the woman alone remained in the middle. When Jesus stood up, and saw no one except the woman, he said to her, "Where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?" She answered, "No one, Lord." Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go away, and from now on sin no more."

It's easier for society to blame the other person, because it makes the other person feel guilty; but without seeing it from the outside, guilt is one of the reasons for the higher suicide rate. In truth, when we blame, we see in the other person a fault that we have not yet discovered in ourselves. Of course, we deny this because we believe ourselves to be 'more perfect', a person who surely has not/has not/will not commit the same serious fault as his fellow human being.

He who sees the speck in another's eye, but ...

That is exactly what I think and I agree with Jesus completely. It's not nice to point fingers at someone else, because who has never done anything wrong? It doesn't matter how badly someone has done, everything is "forgivable", that is, we are human beings in order to make mistakes and learn from them, to take our chances and become better people, or worse people in a negative way. But the so-called "bad" people can be helped, if the person(s) want to change. So I ask you, who are we to accuse others without reason? Who gave us the authority/authority to call our fellow human beings guilty? If criminals are put in jail for manslaughter, who are the police, who although their job is to serve and protect and therefore they are provided with a gun, the criminal uses a gun, the police use a gun, the use just works from a different direction. But if need be, the policeman can shoot an underdog, an incurable madman, if he may not even have a relative. So who are they then, they are not guilty, only the criminal can wear such a label?

The origin of sin as a term

Originally, the term sin became known after Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. "Unlike the eternal God, evil and sin have a beginning; that is, there was a time when they did not exist. God is holy, He is love; therefore all that He created was good; sin did not come from Him. Ezekiel makes it clear that sin mysteriously developed in a creature that God created good: "You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until wickedness was found in you" (Ezek 28:15). The adjective "blameless" (tamim in Hebrew, meaning "perfect") indicates that this creature was perfect from the hand of the Creator.

Note also that sin first reared its head in a high being, a cherub. Cherubim were closer to God than any other angel. Two cherubim were set by the Lord as guardians at the gates of Eden (Genesis 3:24). Two golden cherubim were placed on the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:18-20). The placing of the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant also illustrates the high rank of this cherub, who stood in the presence of God in the light of His dwelling place. So sin was formed in a heavenly being who was very close to the throne of God.

It was out of selfishness that Lucifer abused his God-given gifts of beauty and wisdom by corrupting himself. He mysteriously allowed his feelings and emotions to overcome his intellect, and as a consequence his perfection was corrupted. God clearly holds Lucifer responsible: 'You have used your wisdom for evil' (Ezek 28:17, NIV). Instead of adhering to the divine order that he should use his God-given gifts for the benefit of others, Lucifer imagined himself more beautiful, greater and wiser than all others. Step by step, Satan became "totally absorbed in the desire to exalt himself" and thus disturbed the order established by God."

The understanding of sin in different religious systems

Different religious systems have developed similar ideas around the concept of sin:

The consequence of sin is punishment, which comes from others or from God, to be suffered in the course of life in this world or the afterlife, or, for example, in the course of being born again.

The conscience of each person causes guilt as a consequence of consciously committing a sin.

Sincere repentance (regret of sin, determination to avoid further sins)

The possibility of forgiveness of sins is most often found by praying to the god-gods of religion or to intercessors; in Christianity, salvation is the deliverance from original sin, as in Catholicism.

Buddhism as an example

Buddhism does not recognise sin as a religious concept, instead Buddhists use cause and effect, or karma.
"Vipaka", the result of personal karma, is the cause of hardship, poverty, destruction and lack of harmony in one's life, and can also lead to an easy, healthy, harmonious life, if done properly. The consequence of good deeds is a good or better life, the consequence of bad deeds is a bad life. Karma and vipaka are the consequences of one's actions.

By following the noble eightfold path, Buddhists can liberate themselves from suffering, walking the path between asceticism and mundane life, and attain a state of nirvana.

Types of sin

Original sin - Most Christian denominations identify Adam and Eve's disobedience in paradise with original sin and the fall of man. This was the first original sin committed by the first human couple, which they passed on (and its consequences) to their descendants.

lust, sensuality

venial sin

mortal sin

eternal sin or unpardonable sin. The sinner becomes an apostate, and salvation and divine grace are forever out of reach.

Yet, if we look more closely at the term sin in the modern sense, we can say that we can establish a sort of ranking:

According to the traditional list, pride (pride, arrogance), avarice (greed, miserliness), lust, envy, gluttony (greed), anger and slothfulness (slothfulness) are not necessarily the most serious sins in themselves, but are negative character traits that predispose one to commit the sins defined in the Ten Commandments and are therefore considered to be the sources of sin. Lying used to be mentioned as an 8th sin.

It goes without saying that sin has always been, is and will always be present in our lives. Since the experience of human nature has been that it does no good to have a lot of rules for people to follow because they cannot prioritise them, but at the same time we cannot be left without rules, man sins in terms of breaking rules, but it helps us to at least learn from our mistakes

What do I think about the afterlife? What is happiness? What is happiness?

As a religious person of Christian faith, I of course believe in an afterlife, heaven or whatever you want to call it. Whenever the subject of religion comes up, I share my point of view just enough so that my behaviour does not appear to be intrusive, prophetic or a conversion. Everyone has the right to choose their path, so we all have to accept the other, both the religious and the free thinking citizen/ fellow human being. In my view, after we die, God ''reviews'' the scenario of our lives and, as in ancient Egypt, considers whether the person will ascend to heaven or still has work to do on earth. By "has business on earth" I mean that let's say I have not done/lived as God has ordained for most of my life, so since my earthly duties are not done, my soul will be transported to another body and I will be given another chance until my mission is accomplished. In terms of my belief system, I don't believe God would punish anyone and send them to Hell; as the old saying goes, "God doesn't beat you with a stick." Somehow my soul/concept cannot accept that we die and that's it, it's over, darkness, no more. We'll get somewhere, as mortals we humans are semi-immortal, because we will eventually continue our lives in Paradise with God and all the good-hearted people. And while we're on this subject, after one has fulfilled his mission on earth, he reaches the point where he really has nothing left to miss in his life, he feels complete happiness and contentment. We can also express this process as reaching the ultimate goal, fulfilment or salvation.

But what is happiness, what counts as happiness? As mortals on earth - if we look at the 21st century - happiness is when we are given gifts (clothes, food, drink, etc.), when our family members/friends/partners love us, trust us and give us a pleasant euphoria, when we are pretty/beautiful, when we achieve success, when we achieve our goals, etc. Still, from my point of view, I bring up the example of the Buddhists, because I think there is a lot to learn from them. When we reach nirvana, we go into a kind of hibernation state. It is a state of extinction, of liberation, of enlightenment, in which the impermanent self is united with Brahman. Thus suffering, death and rebirth cease, and therefore it is the highest transcendental state of consciousness.

In short, a person is completely happy when he has no expectations, when he has reached a level of consciousness where he has no special expectations, when he is in harmony with himself and his environment.

What advice would I give to a person who is "lost" today? How can a person get "lost" in today's world?

First of all, I would ask him how he is feeling now. Then, how he would like to feel. Does he want to change the current wave/situation of feeling or does he not want my help and is fine as he is. If his answer is yes, he wants to change his life, then you can start to work with that person psychologically. Personally, I would have him write down what his dreams are, what he wants to achieve in his life/what he wants to accomplish, then plan it, set a strategy, implement it and VOALA, success is at hand. Of course, we can also look at this from a religious perspective. If one is feeling hopeless, often, sad, depressed, hopeless about oneself and one's current situation, it is worth looking within and finding the main source problem/evil that is keeping us from moving forward in life. By faith, we do not necessarily mean gods, prophets, muses etc... It is enough, for example, to look in the mirror every morning and repeat affirming sentences, and in time our brain will reprogram itself after hearing all the positive comments and things will really go as they should and our mindset/attitude to things will change. But if you want to believe in a God, it is worth asking a like/congruent, pure-minded person for help/advice on how to start the journey in the beginning. To get closer to God spiritually, daily prayer, thanksgiving, journaling, meditation, etc. helps.

How we humans can get lost is very simple. Turning away from God, or simply turning away from life, from the world, denying happiness, self-mortification, self-pity, straying from the path we were meant to take-we are too stubborn to accept any help, we don't believe, we think only of money and power, we don't pray, we don't go to church, we are weak inside-we easily fall into the deep pit of depression-we are not satisfied, we don't accept our current situation, we want more, we want better. We want everything. We want the whole Universe. We are not satisfied with the small. There is no nirvana. That's why it's important to have something to believe in, something to hold on to even on bad days.
[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row module_class=" et_pb_row_fullwidth" _builder_version="4.4.2″ width="70%" width_tablet="80%" width_phone="" width_last_edited="on|desktop" max_width_tablet="80%" max_width_phone="" max_width_last_edited="on|desktop" custom_padding="||0px|||"][et_pb_column type="4_4″ _builder_version="4.0.9″][et_pb_text _builder_version="4.4.9″ custom_margin="||-5px|||"]
I wish you a good day,
Loretta - TiniTrend Author
[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built="1″ _builder_version="3.27.4″][et_pb_row _builder_version="3.27.4″ custom_padding="0px||0px|||"][et_pb_column type="4_4″ _builder_version="3.27.4″][et_pb_text _builder_version="4.0.9″ text_text_color="#6b3773″ text_font_size="30px"]
More articles on this topic
[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.27.4″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.27.4″][et_pb_blog fullwidth="off" include_categories="current" show_thumbnail="off" show_author="off" show_date="off" show_categories="off" use_overlay="on" _builder_version="4.4.9″][/et_pb_blog][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

What is the sin?
